Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.

Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.

Financial & Operational Responsibilities

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit‑Loss) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, ensuring they are indexed to sales. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Implements action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.

People Management

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, communicating expectations consistently, and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential. Creates a culture of belonging, supports diversity, and promotes a positive workplace environment. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and upholds the Open Door Policy.

State Pay Differential

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For firearms‑selling facilities: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For ammunition‑selling facilities with state‑specific requirements: current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
