Description
Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners. The Superintendent supervises employees and maintains a safe working environment compliant with government regulatory guidelines and RMC Safety systems on multiple projects simultaneously. This position is on‑site and requires out‑of‑state travel.
Responsibilities- Ensure work site is compliant with OSHA regulations and RMC Safety protocols.
- Manage and schedule installation of plumbing material and equipment.
- Maintain consistent contact with general contractors to be aware at all times of expected installation dates.
- Request and coordinate plumbing material and equipment needs with the purchasing department.
- Coordinate delivery of material and equipment to the job site.
- Check options and equipment list to ensure material is correct.
- Keep project status up to date to ensure timely delivery.
- Lay out crews to install material on scheduled dates.
- Attend and participate in GC meetings.
- Conduct weekly inspections and safety meetings; provide copies of signed safety forms to the general contractor and RMC Safety team.
- Walk the job constantly to follow up with foreman and installers.
- Schedule and direct quality control technician daily; communicate with the technician constantly to maintain schedule.
- Identify problems that need to be corrected.
- Follow up on all purchase orders and/or extra work.
- Maintain open and positive communication with trade partners.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring work meets contract and company requirements.
- Keep up to date with all RMC policies and procedures, industry standards and government regulations.
- Available via telephone after hours and on weekends for emergency and/or customer‑related issues.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other trades.

- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 suite and custom accounting software.
- Time management and stress management skills.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- Ten or more years of experience required.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
