Maintenance Engineer III
-HVAC Wage/Hour Status:

Facility Services Department Salary commensurate with experience
Primary
Purpose:
Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install new HVAC equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all district HVAC equipment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
* High school diploma or GED
* Valid Texas driver's license
* EPA refrigerant recovery certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
* Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written material
* Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
* Ability to use hand and power tools
* Such alternatives to the above as the district may find appropriate
Experience
* Minimum three years' experience
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Receive and make repairs from work orders.
* Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of HVAC systems.
* Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
* Maintain an inventory of district owned tools, equipment, and materials.
* Respond to emergency calls as needed.
* Perform planned maintenance on HVAC.
* Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping.
* Report to Maintenance Lead items that are in need of repair.
* Maintain a spirit of cooperation and helpfulness with all school personnel and with the general public.
* Maintain the equipment issued to him/her, keeping it clean and in good repair.
* Assist Energy Manager to complete energy conservation issues.
* Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
Physical Demands:
* Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling for long periods of time
* Frequent lifting of 50+
* Prolonged or irregular hours may be required
Environmental Factors:
* Exposure to extreme hot and/or cold weather
