Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Dispatcher to join our growing team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation and delivery operations, ensuring efficient and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of logistics processes, excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including pickups and deliveries.
Monitor and track the status of shipments, providing real-time updates to customers and stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and customers.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and dispatching software to optimize routes and schedules.
Process and manage all necessary shipping documentation.
Prioritize and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and other logistical issues promptly and professionally.
Provide clear and accurate instructions to drivers and other personnel.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, activities, and locations.
Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
Generate reports and provide logistical updates as needed.
Follow established protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics dispatch or a related field.
Comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and dispatching software.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of relevant geographic areas and routes.
Ability to remain calm and focused during logistical challenges.
Strong attention to detail.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Preferred
Skills:
Experience with [Specific logistics software or systems].Knowledge of freight forwarding and customs regulations.
Certification in [Relevant logistics certifications].
