DescriptionThe non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and the contract’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management.
Job SummaryUnder direct supervision, performs physical tasks to transport or store MTE items or materials. Duties involve one or more of the following: manually loading or unloading freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices; unpacking, or placing items in proper staging or storage locations; or transporting goods by hand truck or cart.
Essential Functions- Assists in unloading and staging MTE receipts/shipments for inspection.
- Sorts, bands, and stretch wraps USPS MTE for storage or shipment.
- Stages outgoing MTE shipments.
- Assists in the loading of MTE for shipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures to include Job Assessment Planning and Stop Work Authority.
- Frequent exposure to dirt, dust, and other potential allergens.
- Frequent, short duration (>30 min) exposure to the elements i.e. weather variations
