Position SummaryOur Client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and air freight operations while ensuring regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and exceptional service delivery. This leadership role is responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, managing facility operations, and partnering with leadership to drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
The Warehouse Supervisor will ensure all cargo handling, screening, and warehouse processes meet regulatory and company standards while exercising independent judgment to resolve operational challenges and maintain service excellence.
Operational Leadership- Oversee daily warehouse and air freight operations to ensure accuracy, productivity, and service quality.
- Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely movement of freight.
- Optimize warehouse layouts, floor plans, and storage configurations to support efficient workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve cargo utilization and operational efficiency.
- Exercise independent judgment in managing operational processes and resolving service-related issues.
- Ensure all cargo screening procedures comply with TSA and company standards.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety policies.
- Conduct routine warehouse inspections to identify safety concerns and operational improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Implement corrective actions to address compliance and operational risks.
- Lead and direct warehouse personnel to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Manage employee scheduling, time‑off requests, performance management, and other workforce‑related activities.
- Develop and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and operational training sessions.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for warehouse equipment and infrastructure.
- Monitor operational performance and respond proactively to equipment or facility‑related issues.
- Manage relationships with third‑party vendors supporting facility operations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Resolve operational, compliance, and service‑related issues through effective decision‑making.
- Prioritize workloads and allocate resources to ensure operational continuity.
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Support onboarding of new customers by establishing operational procedures, service expectations, and performance standards.
- Assist in expanding warehouse operations through proactive customer engagement.
- Ensure readiness to support new business opportunities and customer requirements.
- Analyze operational performance and implement improvements that support efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, freight, or air cargo operations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Strong knowledge of TSA regulations, OSHA standards, warehouse safety practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and promote a positive work environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Office, and operational reporting tools.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification (training provided).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move freight throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform frequent physical activities related to cargo handling and warehouse operations.
