- Support timber sale and fuels reduction project preparation, including timber marking and flagging operational boundaries, Watercourse and Lake Protection Zones, and other protection or retention areas
- Conduct forest inventory and cruising activities, including potential support for forest carbon inventories
- Collect and record inventory and spatial data using mobile tools such as ESRI Collector and other applications
- Assist Registered Professional Foresters and team members with field and project work as needed
- Follow all company safety policies and operate company equipment responsibly and safely
- Maintain confidentiality of all TUV SUD, client, and project data and information
- Currently enrolled in a forestry or closely related degree program, or equivalent relevant experience
- Ability to identify Northern California tree species
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work safely and effectively in steep, rugged terrain and adverse weather conditions
- Strong communication skills, situational awareness, and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to navigate using GPS, maps, and a compass
- Familiarity with basic forestry tools and timber inventory methods
- Working knowledge of California Forest Practice Rules
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field
- Knowledge of silvicultural prescriptions and forest management practices
- Experience supporting timber sale preparation, including flagging Watercourse and Lake Protection Zones, Equipment Limitation Zones, and unit boundaries
- Experience conducting timber or natural resource inventories and GPS data collection
- Frequent outdoor fieldwork with extended travel and camping required
- Occasional weekend work or travel may be necessary
- Operation of four-wheel-drive vehicles and UTVs or ATVs on steep forest roads in accordance with company policy
- Ability to work safely and effectively both independently and with a team
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs in a pack or vest
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks with limited breaks
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, rain, snow, smoke, dust, and cold temperatures
- Ability to walk, hike, or stand for extended periods in steep, rugged, or remote terrain
- Competitive hourly pay range of $23-$28 based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity

- This is a seasonal position based in Grass Valley, California, with travel required.
