Senior Catchment Officer & Agriculture Lead Havant Full-Time – 38 hours per week | Permanent £44,400 – £52,300 Are you an agricultural professional with strong agronomy knowledge who enjoys building relationships with farmers and delivering positive environmental change? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catchment Management & Agriculture Lead to join a collaborative environmental team focused on protecting and improving water quality.

This Catchment Management & Agriculture Lead will play a key role in delivering catchment management programmes, working directly with farmers, agronomists and landowners to encourage sustainable land management and support access to funding and Senior Catchment Officer incentive schemes. You'll combine field-based engagement with technical expertise, helping identify water quality risks, provide practical agricultural advice and develop projects that deliver measurable environmental benefits.

The role also offers opportunities to lead workshops, support farmer groups and contribute to wider catchment strategy.

Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of agricultural catchment incentive and grant schemes Build strong relationships with farmers, landowners, agronomists and stakeholders Undertake farm visits and catchment walkovers to identify water quality risks Provide practical advice on soil, nutrient and manure management Develop and deliver farmer workshops, presentations and engagement activities Support farmer groups and wider catchment partnership initiatives Develop programmes to measure the impact of changing land management practices Manage scheme budgets, reporting, regulatory activity and relevant risk assessments Skills & Experience Strong agricultural knowledge and relevant industry experience Degree or equivalent qualification in agriculture, environmental or related discipline Strong technical knowledge of agronomy and catchment management Experience engaging with farmers, landowners and environmental regulators Knowledge of soils, nutrient and manure management Understanding of water quality and environmental management

Experience with agricultural or environmental grant and funding schemes Full UK driving licence and confidence working independently in the field BASIS Foundation and additional qualifications such as FACTS are desirable.
