Position: After School Program Coordinator (STEAM Focus)

The After School Program Coordinator designs, launches, and manages a comprehensive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) after-school program for children ages 4 to 12. This role is responsible for honoring and scaling our signature Fiddlehead After School Enrichment history
, managing online student enrollment systems, and posting instructional positions to hire top-tier educators.

Position is Academic Year
- Monday
- Friday - noon to 5 p.m. Some flexibility allowed. Possible SUMMER CAMP position can be combined. About The Fiddlehead Program & History

Our program is built on the rich legacy of the Fiddlehead Center for the Arts and the Fiddlehead School of Arts & Sciences, which pioneered hands‑on, multi‑age experiential learning. Historically, Fiddlehead has blended rigorous scientific inquiry with creative artistic design, building curiosity, self‑regulation, and deep community connections. The incoming coordinator will safeguard this heritage—structuring focused "project times" Monday through Thursday and open, child‑led "free choice" exploration on Fridays—while expanding the model's footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fiddlehead STEAM Program Creation:
    Construct a balanced curriculum of science experiments, coding labs, engineering challenges, creative arts, and math games tailored for ages 4 to 12, maintaining Fiddlehead's signature hands‑on approach.
  • Talent Acquisition & Hiring:
    Write specialized job postings for STEAM instructors, publish vacancies across education job boards, interview candidates, and build a creative teaching team.
  • Digital Registration Management:
    Set up, maintain, and oversee user-friendly online registration platforms (such as the Parent Portal system) for parent sign‑ups, schedule customization, and automated monthly tuition processing.
  • Staff Supervision:
    Train, schedule, and evaluate part‑time instructors to ensure lessons remain highly engaging, collaborative, and safely executed.
  • Parent & Community Relations:
    Serve as the primary point of contact for families, handling digital communications, providing program updates, and troubleshooting registration system technical issues.
  • Logistics & Safety Compliance:
    Manage student attendance tracking, coordinate school bus transit arrivals, and maintain high safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEAM fields, Child Development, or a related sector.
  • Experience:

    2+ years coordinating youth programs, teaching, or directing camps for elementary-aged children.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    High proficiency with online enrollment software (e.g.Jack Rabbit Class and managing digital parent portals.
  • STEAM Knowledge:
    Strong familiarity with inquiry‑based learning principles across science, tech, engineering, arts, and math.
  • Requirements:
    Background check clearance, fingerprinted compliance, and active CPR/First Aid certification.

Position begins immediately and upon finding qualified candidate.
