Job Description & How to Apply Below
As PMO Manager, you will lead and develop our team of Project Managers (PMs), ensuring predictable delivery, cost control, and on-time execution for multidisciplinary electronics-based NPD and NPI projects, primarily for medical devices. You will build a high-performing, technically fluent PM team, oversee project execution, and represent the project management function in key customer interactions. You will directly manage your team-including hiring, performance reviews, and career development.

You will also stay engaged with projects to provide technical and project management guidance that ensures well-informed decisions and successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the PM team, including hiring, staffing, performance reviews, and career development, ensuring team members have clear goals and growth opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor project managers in planning, execution, and technical decision-making.
  • Build and implement PMO processes, tools, and standards that ensure regulatory compliance, technical rigor, and predictable project delivery.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Coach project managers in developing technically sound project plans and anticipating compliance, design, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remove blockers and ensure smooth project delivery.
  • You will support PMs in managing customer expectations, project scope, and assessing trade-offs, ensuring adjustments are clearly communicated.
  • Partner with Account Managers to represent project status, risks, and delivery plans in customer meetings and business reviews.
  • Support Sales with technically informed project planning input for quotes and proposals for NPD and NPI projects.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical curiosity, and continuous improvement within the PM team.
  • Identify opportunities to add value for customers and the company beyond baseline project scope and constraints.
Skills you'll have to succeed:
  • Strong technical understanding of electronics, embedded systems, embedded software, and associated NPD processes.
  • Familiarity with electronics-based manufacturing and NPI processes, including DFM/DFT, production test development, production process development, and validation.
  • Knowledge of medical device regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA, EU MDR, etc.) and best practices for compliance in NPD, NPI, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans, balancing customer priorities, technical feasibility, and internal resources.
  • Proficiency with project planning, scheduling, and shared resource management tools;
    Microsoft Project experience desirable.
  • Strong ability to manage customer expectations and communicate project scope, changes, and trade-offs effectively.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop high-performing, technically competent project managers, including experience managing hiring, performance, and career growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional leadership, problem-solving, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
Education & Experience:
  • 5-10 years of project management experience in electronics product development or contract manufacturing, including experience leading a team of PMs.
  • Engineering degree in electronics, systems integration, or manufacturing engineering strongly preferred.
  • Proven success guiding multi-disciplinary project teams through design, verification, regulatory approval, and transfer-to-manufacturing.
  • Experience in regulated industries, with strong preference for medical devices; experience in automotive, defense, or other complex product sectors also valued.
  • PMP or equivalent certification desirable;
    Lean/Six Sigma or similar process improvement experience a plus.
Your Impact:
You'll shape the PMO function, influence product strategy, and help bring innovative, life-enhancing technologies to market. You'll build teams and lead technical projects from concept to production.
