ResponsibilitiesThe OR Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, patient-centered perioperative care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care throughout the surgical experience while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and respond to clinical changes.
- Maintain a safe, sterile environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and support OR Technicians and ancillary staff.
- Participate in quality improvement, staff education, and unit initiatives.
- Promote efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training.
6. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Pay TransparencyCentral Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
