HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic — West Thurrock — £58,500 + overtime (1.5x)
Step into a forward‑thinking workshop in West Thurrock as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician. You’ll work across modern HGVs and trailers, using computer‑aided diagnostics, with a clear progression route to Master Technician status, excellent pay and ongoing training.
The role — HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Master Technician (Pathway)
Maintain, service and repair HGVs and trailers to DVSA/manufacturer standards
Diagnose faults with computer‑aided diagnostics and complete efficient repairs
Complete routine inspections, planned maintenance and scheduled servicing
Accurately finish job cards, service sheets and technical reports
Work rotating shifts (occasional Saturdays) and uphold health & safety at all times
Keep skills current with regular technical training and new‑system updates
What you’ll bring
Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification (or time‑served equivalent)
Proven experience on HGVs, trailers or commercial vehicles
Strong diagnostics and fault‑finding ability; safe, professional approach
Full UK driving licence (Class 1 desirable)
Main dealer standards/advanced diagnostics experience welcome
Pay, shifts & type
Salary: £58,500 + overtime at 1.5x
Shift pattern:
Rotating, 45 hrs/week — Mon–Fri 06:00–15:30 & 12:30–22:00, Saturdays as required
