Job Description:

The Community Education office is seeking skilled and passionate instructors to teach non-credit courses in a variety of hands-on and creative subject areas. Current offerings include crafting, culinary arts, glassblowing, sewing and needlework, welding, dance, music, drawing and painting, and photography. We welcome applicants with experience in these areas, as well as those with unique skills or creative disciplines not yet represented in our catalog.

Adjunct faculty will :

• D evelop and teach in the assigned subject(s) and level(s) in new or existing programs.

• F ulfill administrative requirements, meet established deadline s and complete required training.

• S tay cu rrent in c ompliance training, including compliance under Title IX “Responsible Employee” and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority as a condition of employment.

• A gree to and follow appropriate College and department policies and procedures.

Schedule varies. Days, evenings and Saturday hours are possible.

Possible class locations include CLC Grayslake Campus, Southlake Campus (Vernon Hills) , Lakeshore Campus (Waukegan), Braeloch Facility, CLC Advanced Technology Center (Gurnee) or a CLC extension site located in communities across Lake County .

D elivery modes include in-person, virtual live via Zoom, asynchronous, or a hybrid of the aforementioned. In-person is most common.

Required Qualifications

• Clear background check, along with substanti ated subject-matter expertise , effective communication skills, and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction.

• D o cumented record of successfully support ing learners in understanding and mastering new ideas and skills.

• Competency and/or commitment to learn and use technologies commonly used in instruction at CLC:
