Automotive Technology Program Coordinator

Job Summary

The Automotive Technology Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Career Program Manager or their designee, following the direction of Department Faculty. The Automotive Technology Program Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for an assigned caseload of students enrolled in Automotive Technology s position is responsible for providing a personalized, holistic, and culturally responsive advising, coaching, and mentoring experience for each student from their first day of classes through credential attainment and career or transfer transition.

Responsibilities include academic advising, transfer guidance, career planning, financial planning, case management, progress monitoring, proactive outreach, support service planning and referral, and referral to student engagement opportunities. The Automotive Technology Program Coordinator partners with the AUT department and various student support departments to develop, implement, and deliver programs and services that foster an inclusive and engaged learning environment.

Student/Customer Service (50%)
  • Assist students with CLC applications, intake forms, and enrollment documents.
  • Build rapport and regularly communicate with students who have made the decision to attend CLC from their point of acceptance through the first day of classes.
  • Enroll students during priority and regular registration periods.
  • Respond to student, faculty, staff, and community inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials such as brochures, fliers, post cards, and social media for promoting enrollment at CLC.
  • Support recruitment efforts by giving presentations and workshops, staffing information tables, and engaging at prospective student events.
  • Act as the department representative and coordinator for the program by conducting tours showcasing demonstrations to students and community members during special college events.
  • Execute targeted communication strategies and campaigns across multiple communication modalities (call, email, text, mailings, in‑person appointments).
  • Provide support for students to secure funding for their education and develop a financial plan.
  • Assess student needs and connect them to existing college resources; identify resources to enhance both academic success and personal development.
Project and Process Management (40%)
  • Proactively manage a caseload of students by establishing respectful one‑on‑one relationships, conducting regular check‑ins, and providing individualized coaching and ongoing feedback to effectively address student needs and support student success.
  • Collaborate with faculty to identify and troubleshoot student challenges related to textbooks, technology, and online course access, both during and outside scheduled class times.
  • Communicate regularly with faculty regarding student progress and identify course‑specific strategies that promote student success.
  • Use web services and software programs including EAB Navigate, People Soft, Microsoft Office, and other programs to assist in meeting student needs and College objectives.
Other (10%)
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the career program manager, department faculty, dean(s) or their designees.
