The Goddard School located in Third Lake, IL is seeking a motivated, energetic self‑starter to join our leadership team as an Assistant Director/Office Manager
. This full‑time position includes closing the school daily at 6:00pm.
As an Assistant Director, you will help oversee the daily operations of the school while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, education, and family experience. You will work closely with the Director to support staff, maintain licensing compliance, and foster strong, positive relationships with families and faculty.
We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, enthusiasm, and leadership—especially in areas like event planning, family engagement activities, faculty appreciation, and social media content creation.

Assistant DirectorKey Responsibilities Administrative Support
- Assist in managing the day‑to‑day operations of the school from afternoon until closing at 6:00pm.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, record‑keeping, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing regulations.
- Support recruitment, training, and supervision of staff.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers.
- Manage and ensure proper training of all staff members.
- Plan and attend activities for the staff and their families.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and families.
- Address parent concerns and provide regular communication with families.
- Promote the school within the community and participate in outreach activities.
- Plan and attend activities for the families.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.
- Conduct regular safety drills and maintain emergency preparedness.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility.
- Regularly post on social media to help market the school.

- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred—Associate’s of Arts or Science in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
- Must be a minimum of Teacher Qualified per Illinois guidelines.
- Must be Lead Teacher qualified, with desire to become Director qualified within one year.
