Teaching Responsibilities
- Develop curriculum and teach classes to middle and high school students
- Develop and teach assigned subjects and levels in new or existing programs
- Support youth initiatives focused on intellectual, academic, and social-emotional growth
- Fulfill administrative requirements and meet established deadlines
- Complete required training and maintain compliance training, including Title IX Responsible Employee and, if applicable, Clery Act Campus Security Authority training
- Follow College and department policies and procedures
- Teach through in-person, virtual live via Zoom, asynchronous, or hybrid delivery modes
- Work varied schedules, including possible days, evenings, and Saturdays
- Teach at assigned CLC campuses, extension sites, or virtually
- At least two years experience teaching, coaching, or volunteering with youth
- Substantiated subject-matter expertise
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction for advanced-level students and students needing additional support
- Clear background check
- Competency and/or commitment to learn and use Microsoft Outlook, additional Microsoft applications, classroom projection technology, Canvas Learning Management System, and enrollment software
- Ability to work effectively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, abilities, and backgrounds
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Eligibility to work with secondary and post-secondary students in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Successful completion of post-offer fingerprint-based criminal history records check, employment history review, and other required screenings or clearances
- Desired:
Gifted Endorsement, Degree in Gifted Education, or equivalent Specialized Training Coursework - Desired:
Competency serving gifted and talented students’ social and emotional needs - Desired:
Strong instructional and curriculum design skills, including curriculum compacting, tiering assignments, and project-based learning
Demonstrates expertise in curriculum development and instructional design, with a focus on differentiated instruction for diverse student needs. Proficient in utilizing technology for teaching and maintaining compliance with educational regulations.
