Job Summary

The Lead, Kitting/Assembly is responsible for the accurate and efficient building of bulk products into value‑added packages for our customers.

Shift Hours

9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Job Description
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all General Worker duties and responsibilities.
  • Direct employees to finish kitting/assembly, reporting to Supervisor for the next assignment and delegating duties to ensure the next kit is ready to run.
  • Update the SQDIP board and complete basic problem solving.
  • Review work instructions for assembly requirements and understand job ticket information through department software and paperwork.
  • Anticipate needed supplies, maintain inventory levels, and notify supervisor of any shortages.
  • Collect temporary worker timesheets and conduct an initial accuracy review.
  • Instruct, coach, and support personnel in performing their job duties while running small kits.
  • Provide training as needed.
  • Assist in duties when the supervisor is absent and provide direction to temporary workers.
  • Set up the production line to start a production cycle and obtain first piece approval for each job/sub‑job.
  • Control and adjust machine settings as necessary.
  • Produce required kit and/or sub‑kit assembly by placing assigned products into the kit, verifying product quality, packaging on the moving line, and ensuring protection once packaged.
  • Monitor lines to ensure optimum speed and quality.
  • Troubleshoot problems during kitting & assembly operation and report issues.
  • Accurately complete all Load Tags and prepare product for the next operation.
  • When processing mail, ensure compliance with USPS regulations and guidelines, apply postage and labels, and complete paperwork to move the product through the mail stream efficiently.
  • Perform maintenance on department equipment or facilitate preventative maintenance work.
  • Track job costs and production hours as applicable.
  • Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter‑free workplace, reporting potentially unsafe conditions, and meeting or exceeding safety requirements.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, with four or more years of relevant industry experience, or 520 hours as an Imagine temporary employee with manager’s approval to be hired full‑time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of experience in printing, manufacturing, distribution, and/or fulfillment.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain high school diploma or GED within a reasonable time if not already attained; tuition reimbursement provided.
  • Experience with BVM Shrink Wrapper, Tape Machines, Conveyors, Piece Scales, Poly Bagger, and Pallet Wrappers.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Basic computer skills including email, mouse, keyboard, and menu navigation.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement.
  • Ability to communicate and understand basic written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
  • Frequent standing for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Travel: none.
  • Chemicals: none.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
Pay Statement

The national pay range for this role is USD $17.93 – USD $20.00 per hour, with adjustments based on geographic location. Pay may vary according to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, compensation may include participation in bonus, commission, or incentive programs. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance, and supplemental insurance coverages, tuition assistance, caregiver leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
