CCBYS Crisis Worker
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral or social science (social work, sociology, psychology guidance and counseling or closely related discipline). Prior experience as a crisis worker is preferred.
Basic Functions: Responsible for performing crisis duty between the hours of 9am and 5pm;
Monday through Friday. Assist in the planning, delivery and administration of the crisis program in accordance with the stated purpose of the Agency; and Provide direct service to clients as needed and appropriate. CCBYS is a program run by DCFS that provides crisis intervention, follow up, and placement (when necessary) to youth between the ages of 11 and 17.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for performing the weekday crisis services as per CCBYS guidelines.
2. Responsible for keeping accurate data, notes, and documentation on crisis call outs as per CCBYS guidelines, including inputting data into the GOALS data base.
3. Responsible for case coordination (either in house or between outside agencies), therapeutic follow up, connecting client to needed resources, “hand offs” of the crisis case when appropriate, and providing backup clinical consultation on agency clients.
4. Collaborate, coordinate, and provide outreach and psycho-education with outside agencies such as DCFS, police departments, psychiatric hospitals, youth shelters, external family members, etc
5. Assist in the coordination and development of community training and staff in-service training as it pertains to the crisis program.
6. Assist in the development of procedures, policies and forms necessary to maintain the crisis program.
7. Represent agency at external networking meetings maintaining a collaborative relationship.
8. Responsible for coordinating the gathering of program outcome data.
9. Other tasks as assigned
Accountability: The Crisis Worker reports to the Clinical Supervisor.
