Tact Staff EDU is hiring a School Social Worker for a full-time, onsite position in Lake County, Illinois for the 2026–2027 school year. Join a collaborative multidisciplinary team supporting students in a specialized autism program where you’ll make a meaningful impact on students’ social-emotional growth, communication, and school success.

Position Details- Position: School Social Worker
- Location: Lake County, IL
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Schedule: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (7.5-hour day with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- New Hire Onboarding: August 12–14, 2026
- Student Start Date: August 20, 2026
- Last Day: May 27, 2027
- Setting: LASSO 3 Autism Program
- School: K–12 (caseload assigned based on team needs)
- Caseload: Low
The LASSO 3 Program serves students in grades K–12 with significant autism-related learning needs. Students benefit from a highly individualized, structured, and supportive environment designed to address:
- Social-emotional development
- Communication and language needs
- Sensory regulation
- Behavioral supports
- Functional life skills
- Academic participation
You’ll work alongside experienced special education professionals in a collaborative setting focused on helping students reach their full potential.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group social work services aligned with student IEP goals.
- Complete social developmental histories, assessments, and progress documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support students with social-emotional learning, behavior regulation, crisis intervention, and communication skills.
- Consult with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to develop effective student support strategies.
- Connect families with school and community resources as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Experience in school-based special education or pediatric settings preferred.
- Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly valued.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
