School Social Worker Position

Tact Staff EDU is hiring a School Social Worker for a full-time, onsite position in Lake County, Illinois for the 2026–2027 school year. • Location: Lake County, IL
• School Year: 2026–2027
• Schedule: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (7.5-hour day with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
• New Hire Onboarding: August 12–14, 2026
• Student Start Date: August 20, 2026
• Last Day: May 27, 2027
• Setting: LASSO 3 Autism Program
• School: K–12 (caseload assigned based on team needs)
• Caseload: Low

The LASSO 3 Program serves students in grades K–12 with significant autism-related learning needs. Students benefit from a highly individualized, structured, and supportive environment designed to address:

• Social-emotional development
• Communication and language needs
• Sensory regulation
• Behavioral supports
• Functional life skills
• Academic participation

You’ll work alongside experienced special education professionals in a collaborative setting focused on helping students reach their full potential.

• Provide individual and group social work services aligned with student IEP goals.
• Complete social developmental histories, assessments, and progress documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Support students with social-emotional learning, behavior regulation, crisis intervention, and communication skills.
• Consult with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to develop effective student support strategies.
• Connect families with school and community resources as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
• Experience in school-based special education or pediatric settings preferred.
• Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly valued.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
