Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team at Berkshire Meadows! Our program provides services in a residential, special education, and day habilitation environment for children and adults with significant developmental disabilities, including profound cognitive, physical, and medical challenges. Our school operates year‑round, serving students for twelve months a year, and we offer generous paid time off!
In this position, you will teach students with autism and complex special needs within a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be kind, empathetic, dependable, and committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with limited communication, physical, and cognitive abilities. It is essential for the ideal candidate to exhibit strong teamwork skills and collaborate effectively across departments, all while promoting a positive and encouraging environment.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Some Flexibility)
The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $94,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.
Responsibilities- Collaborate in the development and implementation of annual student Individualized Educational Program (IEP).
- Provide evidence-based instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEP.
- Assess student progress and determine the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
- Coordinate the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.
- Create a positive learning experience with emphasis on individualized instruction.
- Conduct special education evaluations and reevaluations.
- Provide direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed.
- Develop and prepare instructional materials.
- Complete all required assessments and reports per State and Federal guidelines.

- Must be 21 years or older.
- MA DESE License in Special Education. Candidates who are in the process of obtaining their license will be considered and provided with supervision and training.
- Candidates who hold a current CPR certification are preferred; training will be provided if necessary.
- The ability to work independently is required.
- Maintains a valid driver's license.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
