Prior OB/GYN experience is required for this on‑site, per diem position. Salary range: $24.00-$28.00/hour. The LPN triages patients by telephone or walk‑in to determine the urgency and level of care needed, assists the Practice Manager in supervising clinical support staff, and provides patient care under the guidance of CHP Physicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Triage patients by telephone or walk‑in; approve same‑day visits when appropriate; assist with referrals to specialists; complete PT‑1 forms; provide patient education; supervise medical assistants as needed.
- Assist physicians in all procedures requiring nursing‑level support; administer immunizations and allergy shots; manage prescription medication requests; process laboratory results; pull charts; review and hold partials, flagging abnormal results for provider review; contact patients with results as directed; chart all procedures performed.
- Run daily equipment controls; assist in charting for quality assurance (HCG, strep, sickle cell, urinalysis dipstick, etc.); ensure billing codes are correct; perform other routine office duties as requested.
- Interact with others tactfully and diplomatically, treating everyone with respect and consideration regardless of status or position; contribute to a positive team spirit; balance team and individual responsibilities; demonstrate professionalism and ethics.
- Respond appropriately to patient needs; manage difficult or emotional patient situations to instill trust and respect; solicit feedback to improve performance.
- Manage multiple priorities; work well under pressure; complete tasks correctly and on time with limited supervision; step in when needed and cross‑train for additional site coverage; respond promptly to requests for service and assistance; lead and instruct others confidently; delegate effectively.
- Present information effectively in one‑on‑one or small group situations; respond to questions; complete administrative duties accurately and timely.
- Calculate figures and amounts; solve practical problems; interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
- Be punctual and reliable; maintain schedule commitments.
- Spanish speaking/bilingual is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Minimum three years of experience in an ambulatory setting (preferred).
- Electronic Medical Records experience is required; CPR certification is a plus.
- Must be licensed as a practical nurse by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
