* Stock, rotate, and maintain attractive meat and seafood displays using FIFO inventory practices.
* Trim, cut, package, and merchandise meat and seafood to ensure quality, freshness, and visual appeal.
* Monitor product quality, freshness, and temperatures to meet food safety and health department standards.
* Receive deliveries, inspect products, and follow established receiving and quality control procedures.
* Accurately label products and maintain current pricing and signage.
* Assist with inventory counts, product rotation, markdowns, and minimizing shrink.
* Set up seasonal displays and ensure cases remain fully stocked throughout the day.
* Maintain clean, organized workstations, display cases, coolers, and storage areas.
* Safely operate department equipment and promptly report maintenance or equipment issues.
* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Berkshire Food Co-op operating standards.
* Complete opening, closing, and shift-specific department checklists as assigned.## Qualifications
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.
* ** Strong knife skills and the ability to safely use meat and seafood processing equipment are essential.
*** Comfortable working in refrigerated environments (approximately 50°F) and occasionally in freezer temperatures as low as
-10°F.
* Ability to work independently and follow written procedures and operating instructions.
* ** Preferred:
** 1+ years of retail, meat, seafood, or food service experience.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, lift, reach, push, pull, and twist throughout the shift.
* Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead when necessary.
* Ability to adapt to changing temperatures, use fine motor skills, and work safely in a busy production environment.
* Ability to read labels, maintain accurate records, and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
