Student Engagement Specialist

Barton Community College seeks applicants for a full‑time replacement Student Engagement Specialist located in Great Bend, KS. This is not a remote position. The position serves as the first point of contact with all Barton Online students and is responsible for assisting students/potential students with information about programs/degrees offered, general information about the college and classes, and with all office duties such as processing student enrollment, working with multiple operating systems, coordinating with Barton Online bookstore vendor, answering the phone and e‑mail, and other traditional office duties.

Qualifications:

A two‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty, and staff; work with students of diverse ages and backgrounds; operate independently and multitask; and problem‑solving. Experienced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required, as well as effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
