Overview
Adjunct Faculty to teach the AC and DC Electronics class for the Natural Gas Technician program.
Responsibilities- Teach basic lessons in AC and DC electronics, covering industry acronyms and electrical units such as amperes, voltage, and ohms.
- Explain the roles of protons, electrons, and neutrons in electricity and define standard unit prefixes (deci, centi, milli, micro, nano, pico).
- Cover DC circuit concepts including resistor identification and values, Ohm’s law, Watt’s law, and Kirchhoff’s law; construct circuits on a breadboard.
- Teach series and parallel circuits, Wheatstone bridge construction and analysis.
- Explain AC circuit concepts, define sine waves using an oscilloscope and frequency generator.
- Cover capacitor, inductor, transformer, and RLC formulas, and guide students through related laboratory exercises.
- Utilize a scientific calculator to teach students how to perform specific calculations.
- Deliver instruction through written quizzes/tests, overhead visual aids, and hands‑on lab work.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred; not required).
- Relevant work experience with industry certifications and training experience, or teaching experience at the post‑secondary level (preferred).
- Ability to conduct face‑to‑face teaching assignments.
