Doonan Specialized Trailer is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Production Painters to join our manufacturing team on both Day and Night Shifts
.
Production Painters are responsible for preparing trailer surfaces and applying paint and protective coatings to large steel and aluminum commercial trailers. This position requires attention to detail, proper surface preparation, and the ability to consistently produce a high-quality finish.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of quality and consistency, and is comfortable working with painting equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment.
- Prepare steel and aluminum trailer surfaces for painting
- Clean, degrease, sand, grind, and otherwise prepare surfaces as required
- Mask and protect areas that should not receive paint or coatings
- Mix and prepare paints, primers, and coatings according to specifications
- Operate paint guns and other painting equipment
- Apply primer, paint, and protective coatings to trailer components and completed trailers
- Maintain proper paint coverage, thickness, and finish quality
- Inspect completed surfaces for runs, sags, imperfections, and other defects
- Perform touch-up and rework as necessary to meet quality standards
- Maintain and clean paint guns, hoses, equipment, and work areas
- Follow proper procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of paints and chemicals
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Previous industrial, automotive, commercial, or production painting experience preferred
- Experience with spray painting equipment is a plus
- Knowledge of surface preparation and paint application techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This position involves painting large commercial trailers and requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Climb ladders and work on and around large trailers
- Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions
- Safely operate painting equipment and power tools
- Work in a production environment with exposure to paint, coatings, dust, and other manufacturing materials
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Pay:
Up to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience (+$2 shift differential pay for night shift) - Medical Insurance
