What You'll Do

As Controller, you'll own the company's accounting function while serving as a strategic business partner on the executive team.

Financial Leadership & Reporting
  • Lead all accounting operations and month-end/year-end close
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Maintain complete balance sheet integrity through timely reconciliations
  • Develop executive reporting, financial analysis, and KPI dashboards
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations
Financial Planning & Business Support
  • Develop and improve company cash flow forecasting process
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and proactively drive collections
  • Oversee Accounts Payable while optimizing cash flow
  • Ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
Payroll & Compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll through third-party payroll providers
  • Maintain accounting controls and financial accuracy
  • Support annual audits and tax preparation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Executive Partnership
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to ownership and participate in executive leadership team
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities before they become problems
  • Support banking relationships, bonding and surety requirements, and financial planning
  • Provide clear financial insight that supports confident business decisions
What Success Looks Like

You'll know you're succeeding when you have:

  • Monthly financial statements are consistently delivered by the 8th business day of the month
  • Improved visibility through reporting, dashboards, and forecasting
  • Created scalable systems that support organizational growth
  • Cash flow is well managed and receivables stay under control
  • Financial processes become more efficient every quarter
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong experience with:
  • Month-end and year-end close
  • Accrual accounting
  • Revenue recognition
  • Work-in-progress (WIP) accounting
  • Inventory accounting
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience building financial reporting and dashboards
  • Proven ability to improve accounting processes and internal controls
Preferred

Experience supporting a growing company in one or more of these industries:

  • Commercial construction
  • Service contracting
  • Manufacturing
  • Technical services

Experience with Quick Books and Build Ops is a plus.

Compensation

$100,000 annually, depending on experience
