Job Overview

Admin Clerk – This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one to be considered. As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a U.S. Citizen. The role specializes in tracking and obtaining initial specialty care and deferred network primary care referrals, including obtaining clear and legible reporting (CLR) from military treatment facilities (MTF), network, and non-network providers.

The clerk is responsible for chasing CLRs no later than 60 days from referral entry or claim evidence, completing CLR uploads no later than 180 calendar days after order entry, importing/ scanning CLRs into the correct patient medical records, following up with MTF specialty care providers who did not complete CLR referral results in accordance with business rules, and preparing referral management data reports and metrics using referral tracking data tools.

The position requires medical ethics, telephone etiquette, office, administrative, and clerical skills to provide positive, courteous, and professional customer service support to patients and staff.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Admin Clerk
: $38,604.80. Pay commensurate with experience. Full‑time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Responsibilities
  • Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
  • Perform general office administrative and clerical duties and act as a receptionist, answering telephones.
  • Demonstrate operational computer skills with general working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Understand medical terminology (preferred).
  • Prepare referral management data reports and metrics using referral tracking data tools.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn computer applications such as MHS Genesis (preferred).
  • Hold at least one (1) year of healthcare administrative experience in either an inpatient or outpatient care setting within the last three (3) years.
  • Demonstrate general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written, verbal, and electronic communication, and customer service skills.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • College classes or degree preferred.
  • Must pass pre‑employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
