Position

MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL

Qualifications
  • K-12, 5-12, or 7-12 administrative certification
  • Current Montana teaching certificate
  • Middle school experience preferred
  • MTSS facilitation/experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Assist the principal in supervision and evaluation of staff.
  • Assist in the transition of students from elementary to middle school and from middle to high school.
  • Assist the principal with the development of discipline policy and procedure; primarily responsible for its implementation.
  • Responsible for the development of the master schedule and for the scheduling of students.
  • Assist in the in‑service training programs.
  • Assist with attendance policy development and implementation.
  • Assist in interpreting the entire middle school program for teachers, parents, and the community.
  • Assist in maintaining an account of all equipment and supplies.
  • Supervise all teachers, custodians, and other staff members in matters designed by the building principal.
  • Act as administrator for MTSS, Special Education, CST, IEP, and 504 meetings as needed.
  • Assist the principal in providing middle school statistics, reports, and research required by school administration.
  • Cooperate in state and national surveys appointed by the Superintendent of Schools.
  • Encourage participation in professional education organizations at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Suggest materials and methods to publicize the middle school program.
  • Read and keep abreast of current educational movements and advances.
  • Assist the principal in submitting an annual Status of Education report to the Superintendent of Schools.
  • Assist the principal in the supervision of after‑school and extra‑curricular student activities.
  • Perform any other duties required by the principal or superintendent of schools.
Salary

$ base salary (as per 2025‑2026 salary schedule)

  • Board policy requires that only candidates selected through our screening process will be interviewed.
  • All recommendations for employment must be approved by the Board of Trustees in a public meeting upon recommendation of the Superintendent.
