Responsible for designing, programming, installing, and maintaining computerized systems for HVAC, lighting, and security to optimize building performance, improve energy efficiency, and enhance occupant comfort.

• Design, program, install, and maintain computerized building automation systems.
• Troubleshoot control systems, manage network connectivity, and calibrate field devices.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and facility staff to implement upgrades and new technology.
• Provide education and training to Facilities Engineering team members on installation and operation of automated system controls.
• Handle pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and adapting to changing situations.
• Address diverse stakeholder needs, manage stressful situations, and resolve conflicts.
• Perform all assigned job duties and tasks as requested.
• Adhere to all licensing board or agency requirements, regulations, and procedures.
• Comply with Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls.
• Relevant certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or LEED are highly valued.
• Experience programming and using graphics software for Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Delta, and Schneider platforms.
• Proficiency in HVAC systems, low‑voltage electrical circuits, and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works).

Exempt or non‑exempt status:
Exemption Wage. Starting wage: $32.49 per hour, with adjustments based on applicable experience.
