The Great Falls Symphony is announcing auditions for a Section Viola position. This is a permanent, tenure-track role based in Great Falls, Montana, with auditions scheduled for September 15, 2026. The position is per-service, with musician rates set at $62 per service for the season. Additional compensation includes mileage reimbursement at federal rates, a per diem of $25 per day, and complimentary lodging if needed.
The upcoming season will feature a variety of performances, including six subscription concerts, a movie in concert, a chamber choir concert, and an education matinee. Audition repertoire includes a solo piece of 2-3 minutes from a standard concerto, along with specific excerpts from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night’s Dream, Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture, and Mozart's Marriage of Figaro Overture.
