The Great Falls Symphony announces auditions for the position of Principal Clarinet, which is a permanent and tenure track role. The auditions will take place on September 14, 2026, at the Mansfield Theater in Great Falls, Montana. This position is per-service, with musician rates set for the season at $120 per service. Additional compensation includes mileage reimbursement, per diem, and complimentary lodging if required.
The upcoming season will feature various performances, including six subscription concerts, a movie in concert, a chamber choir concert, and an education matinee. Interested candidates should submit a one-page resume via email to auditions by the Final date to receive applications of September 8, 2026.Audition repertoire includes the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in A Major, along with excerpts from works by Beethoven, Brahms, Kodaly, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, Mendelssohn, and Rachmaninoff.
Candidates are encouraged to prepare these pieces thoroughly for their audition.
