POSITION SUMMARYThe Risk Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Montana Credit Union's enterprise risk management, fraud prevention, loss control, vendor management, internal controls, and risk education programs. This position identifies, assesses, mitigates, and reports risks that may impact the credit union's operations, financial condition, reputation, members, employees, assets, or strategic objectives.
The Risk Management Supervisor leads fraud investigations, administers enterprise-wide risk assessments, evaluates security and loss-prevention practices, and recommends policies, procedures, safeguards, and controls designed to reduce organizational risk. This role works closely with employees, department managers, Senior Leadership, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, vendors, and other external partners to support a strong risk management culture. The position also provides reports, analyses, and recommendations to the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee as needed.
In addition, the Risk Management Supervisor serves as a designated backup to the Compliance Officer/Internal Auditor for assigned Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) responsibilities, FinCEN Section 314(a) requests, and internal audit support functions.
This position plays a critical role in protecting Montana Credit Union's members, assets, and reputation while supporting the organization's strategic goals and commitment to exceptional member service.

- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management, fraud prevention, credit union security, loss control, internal controls, vendor management, and insurance risk.
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements, FinCEN Section 314(a), privacy requirements, record retention practices, and applicable financial institution regulations.
- Knowledge of fraud schemes involving checks, cards, electronic payments, online banking, identity theft, account takeover, loans, and social engineering.
