Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, licensed therapy professional to lead our rehabilitation department as Director of Therapy in our dynamic skilled nursing facility. In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services to short-term rehab and long-term care residents. You will drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes, census growth, and reimbursement in a Medicare/Medicaid-focused environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position—ideal for a clinician with strong management skills who enjoys both clinical oversight and strategic department management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to the therapy team (PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, SLPs), including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor rehabilitation programs and services to meet resident needs, promote functional independence, and support quality of care.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (e.g., CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, Joint Commission standards), facility policies, and billing requirements (PDPM knowledge a plus).
  • Manage department operations, including budgeting, productivity standards, cost control, revenue enhancement, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (nursing, physicians, social services, dietary, activities) to create individualized care plans and participate in resident care conferences.
  • Oversee clinical documentation, quality assurance, outcome tracking, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Treat patients as needed (typically 4–20 hours/week depending on facility size) while maintaining a leadership focus.
  • Build relationships with referral sources, hospitals, and community partners to support admissions and census goals.
  • Monitor key metrics such as therapy utilization, length of stay, functional outcomes, and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Washington (or eligible for licensure).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in SNF/rehab setting; prior Director of Rehab (DOR) or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of SNF regulations, PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model), Medicare Part A/B, and therapy documentation/best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to manage a team, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and drive results.
  • CPR certification required; additional certifications (e.g., wound care, dementia) a plus.
Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on residents' lives in a supportive, collaborative environment.
  • Stable Monday–Friday schedule (no routine weekends).
  • Professional growth with leadership development and continuing education support.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

If you are a motivated therapy leader ready to elevate rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing setting, we encourage you to apply!
