Network &Computer Systems Administrator Job Great Falls area,Montana USA,IT/Tech

Overview

The System Administrator l/ll ensures secure, efficient, and reliable operation of network and server systems. Key duties include long-term planning, design, product evaluation, capacity planning, and resolving system issues. This role collaborates with IT across four campuses to manage cybersecurity, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Deploy, maintain, and secure server operating systems using industry best practices and enterprise hardening techniques.

Manage Active Directory for user and group access control.

Administer Microsoft Configuration Manager and Intune.

Onboard and offboard faculty, staff, and students in alignment with institutional policies.

Support both on-premises and cloud-based server applications.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Strong understanding of Active Directory, server operating systems, and backup solutions.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and services.

Proven ability to manage responsibilities independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience in network/server system administration.

Industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, VCP, Security+).

Experience in managing a multi-campus IT environment.

Familiarity with cloud-based solutions and services.
