Job Summary

The Shared Services Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing centralized shared services functions that support multiple business units, with a primary focus on Human Resources transactional services. This role ensures consistent, compliant, and efficient service delivery across the enterprise by standardizing processes, managing service levels, and providing a single point of accountability for employee‑facing services. The Shared Services Manager partners closely with business leaders and functional stakeholders while maintaining strong operational controls and a high standard of service.

Responsibilities

Shared Services Intake & Service Management

  • Design and maintain clear intake processes for Shared Services requests, including prioritization rules and service‑level expectations.
  • Ensure leaders and employees understand how to engage Shared Services and what service levels to expect.
  • Oversee employee service desk and case management processes, serving as a single point of contact for employee inquiries.
  • Ensure all cases are tracked, resolved timely, and assigned clear ownership.

Policy Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain central ownership of HR policy administration, ensuring consistent interpretation, guidance, and application across the enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance of required employment, regulatory, and audit documentation to reduce legal and operational risk.
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation requests as needed.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiencies to improve service quality and reduce cost.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders on system implementations, enhancements, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate data management across HRIS, payroll, and related enterprise systems.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching for HR Shared Services team, ensuring all team members have clearly defined goals and receive regular performance feedback.
Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive human resources experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience HR operations, or operational management.
  • Experience with HRIS, ERP, and case management or service desk tools preferred.
  • Significant experience leading full‑scope HR operations, talent acquisition, and learning and development functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and drive people strategies in complex, operational environments.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or other field‑based, multi‑site organizations.
  • Experience scaling people operations in a high‑growth or acquisition‑driven environment.
