Charge Nurse - PACU RN

Responsible for the daily flow of perioperative patients in the Pre‑Op/PACU areas. Plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients, encompassing patient issues, staffing issues, schedule issues, and daily problem solving. Ensure staff adhere to patient safety standards and documentation requirements according to CPAN standards and recommended practices. Work cooperatively with providers, healthcare professionals, and allied health staff, collaborating daily with the PACU supervisor.

Receive direction from the Director of Perioperative Services, Anesthesia, surgeons, and the Chief Nursing Officer, and give directions to Pre‑Op/PACU staff.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or school
• BSN, preferred

• 2+ years of previous experience in PACU
• Critical Care nursing experience, preferred

• MT State Nursing License
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• CPAN or ASPAN, desired

• Basic nursing principles and procedures
• Principles of asepsis
• CPAN guidelines for perioperative practice
• Use of ordinary and customary equipment used to perform the essential functions of the position
