Position: Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job

Overview

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Great Falls, Montana, United States. Start date 07/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,955–$1,987 per week. 36 guaranteed hours per week. Day shift. This travel - temporary assignment occurs in a short-term acute care setting.

    Inpatient progressive care/step-down environment within a short-term acute care context
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care for hemodynamically stable and stabilizing PCU/step-down patients on a medical/surgical unit
  • Monitor vitals, administer medications and IV therapies, manage telemetry, and operate advanced medical equipment (including lines, pumps, and ventilatory support as needed)
  • Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines, and nasogastric tubes; support short-term ventilation and invasive monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary teams; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
  • Assess and respond to potential deterioration with skilled assessment, timely interventions, and adherence to established policies; assist with precepting and orienting staff as needed
Requirements
  • Montana RN license in good standing
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • TNCC and/or EPNC certification preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred; post-heart catheterization experience preferred
  • Ability to operate advanced medical equipment, perform basic cardiac telemetry interpretation, and provide care for patients with complex needs in a PCU/step-down setting
