Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Job Summary
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients in the PCU. They work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans. The PCU Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring patients receive the appropriate care and support during their stay in the PCU.
Responsibilities and Duties- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs and symptoms
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment options
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality of care
- Valid RN license
- BSN or higher degree in Nursing
- Previous experience in a PCU or similar setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
