Position Overview
The House Supervisor/Patient Flow Specialist provides direction and guidance for hospital staff in interpretation and application of policies and procedures, problem solving, utilization and assignment of nursing resources, and response to patient and family complaints and concerns. The role organizes workflow and ensures that staff understand their duties or delegated tasks, monitors employee productivity, and provides constructive feedback and coaching. Responsibilities include supervision and administrative decision making in collaboration with clinical leaders and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
The Specialist works closely with charge nurses and all clinical and non‑clinical support staff and receives direction from the Great Falls Clinic Hospital Chief Nursing Officer.
- Degree from a Nursing Program
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an RN in a hospital setting, preferably recent ICU experience.
- Experience using basic office equipment, multiple IV pumps, advanced medical equipment including A‑lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilator‑dependent patients.
- Experience caring for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
- Experience in patient flow, resource nursing, and nurse leadership roles.
- Licensed registered nurse in the State of Montana.
- CPR certification required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required, or the ability to obtain them within six months of employment.
- Advanced nursing principles and procedures, care of post‑operative and medical patients, and a strong background in cardiac monitoring.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional leadership, customer‑service orientation, and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility, independent and critical thinking, and the initiative to develop and lead special projects.
- Capacity to manage a busy workload effectively.
