Provides direct patient care to medical/surgical/cardiovascular patients needing advanced monitoring. Required to operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, arterial lines, multiple IV balloon pumps, Impella pumps, and patients requiring ventilation support or continuous renal replacement therapy. Also cares for general medical and surgical patients on the inpatient unit. Assesses and implements established policies and procedures with minimal supervision, acts as a clinical leader, assists with precepting staff, and provides care from admission to discharge.
Directs RN, LPN, CNA, housekeeping staff, and dietary staff. Receives direction from providers, charge nurse, supervisor, and chief nursing officer.
Schedule:
3×12 shifts with nights (7 pm‑7:30 am).
- Graduate of an accredited RN degree nursing program, required.
- Practice in an advanced medical/surgical unit and recent critical care nursing with cardiovascular surgery, required.
- Impella and/or other cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT experience, preferred.
- 1–2 years of cardiac surgical ICU experience, strongly preferred.
- Current State of Montana RN licensure.
- BLS, ACLS required.
- Complete PALS within 6 months of hire and renewal as required.
- EPNC, TNCC certification preferred.
- Advanced nursing principles and procedures.
- Use of basic office equipment and multiple IV pumps.
- Ability to operate advanced medical equipment, including arterial lines, invasive lines, cardiac balloon pumps, chest tubes, ventilatory support, and CRRT.
