Summary
The Manager of Quality Control leads all Quality Control operations within the repair station, driving execution, oversight, and continuous improvement across the function. This role directs and performs inspections on commercial regional aircraft systems, including airframe, avionics, engines, electrical, fuel, hydraulics, and flight controls, ensuring all work meets FAA regulations, company standards, and customer requirements. The position is accountable for upholding the highest levels of safety, quality, and operational integrity while setting the standard for inspection excellence on the floor.
The role reports directly to the Director of Quality and serves as a key leadership bridge between Quality and Production operations.
- MUST HOLD a valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong aircraft systems and maintenance knowledge
- 3 years of leadership experience in a 14 CFR Part 145 MRO
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 43 & 145)
- MHI CRJ Series or De Havilland Aircraft (DHC-8) experience
- Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, RSQCM, and customer requirements
- Supervise and lead Quality Control Inspectors in daily operations
- Serve as the primary decision authority on product quality issues and airworthiness determinations
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of Service Difficulty Reports (SDRs) and irregularities
- Manage inspector qualifications, training compliance, and inspection authority assignments
- Issue, control, and revoke Inspection Authorizations and stamps as required
- Support and enforce On the Job Training (OJT) programs for inspection personnel
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of maintenance documentation and work packages
- Monitor and drive correction of work card discrepancies
- Act as liaison between Quality, Production, and Management to ensure alignment and compliance
- Participate in production meetings while maintaining independent quality oversight
- Promote adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
