The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector

The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the Customs and Border Protection Quality Control Program.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the performance of required aircraft airworthiness inspections and prepare the necessary forms and certifications for both military and general aviation aircraft.
  • Review airframe and engine logbooks.
  • Ensure all assigned aircraft meets appropriate airworthiness standards.
  • Monitor all required forms and reports regarding aircraft, related parts inventory, parts usage, and associated ground support equipment.
  • Check Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) in accordance with operation manuals during scheduled inspections.
  • Perform duties of a working Leadman as assigned; report to the Site Manager as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the overall mission.
  • Periodically travel in support of customers’ mission.
Minimum Qualifications
  • CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • High school graduate or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Valid Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • At least five (5) years of full‑time experience as an aircraft and power plant mechanic.
  • Working knowledge of both military and general aviation aircraft.
  • Well versed in the maintenance of all aircraft systems and logbooks.
  • Demonstrated reliability, initiative, and good technical ability.
  • Proficiency in office software applications, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain workflow.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment

Work environment may include standard office settings as well as exposure to inclement weather, dust, wind, rain, and high noise hazards requiring ear protection.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $45.35
