Job Description

The prep cook is responsible for the timely and quality preparation of food to meet the restaurant's standards of excellence. The prep cook must adhere to established food production programs and procedures, and comply with sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. They are also responsible for the appropriate use of supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

  • Experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate new to our industry.
Responsibilities of a Prep Cook
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of food using established procedures.
  • Follow standard recipes and accommodate special diet orders.
  • Plan food production to align with meal serving times, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with the production team during shifts.
  • Follow proper food handling and preparation techniques.
  • Store food safely, marking dates and items clearly.
  • Maintain daily production records.
  • Adhere to sanitation, hygiene, and health standards.
  • Report equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Keep work areas clean and equipment maintained.
