Compensation & Scheduling

Hourly pay ranges from $17.00 to $20.00, depending on experience. Compensation includes base hourly wage plus estimated commission. Day‑time or evening availability is required, including two weekends per month. Average 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile.
  • Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and following Scheels professional salesmanship standards to provide an above and beyond customer experience.
  • Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits.
  • Engage in conversation with customers and assist them in making buying decisions.
  • Demonstrate a passion for products in our store.
  • Attend all Scheels product training and store meetings.
  • Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor.
  • Assists in all other assigned duties.
  • Perform basic math, including compute rate, ratio and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations with customers and other employees.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to help with freight/stocking when needed.
  • Demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights greater than 6 ft.

  • Efficiency: Demonstrate pride and ownership of work while meeting expected deadlines.
Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of sales experience.

Physical Requirements / Lifting Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work includes exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
