Job Summary

The Iron Worker is responsible for completing tasks related to structural iron and steel erection and completing the tasks in a timely, quality manner while maintaining safety and productivity.

The project is for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and will require a background check to gain site access. Davis‑Bacon wages will be paid.

Essential

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in work area layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel. May include taking measurements, assisting with setting up rigging, unloading and shake out of material.
  • Install safety line and posts.
  • Clean work area and assist in keeping it safe.
Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • TWIC Card and/or Real ’s are required.
  • Ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work from ladders and scaffolds.

Preferred:

  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks during long shifts.
  • Skilled in math which includes adding and subtracting fractions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a background check and do a drug screening.

Work Environment
  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment.
  • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
