Location:Great Falls, MT
Position OverviewWe are seeking experienced, skilled pipe fitters to join our growing team. In this position you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for our construction project/sites as assigned. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves.
Job Duties- Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts.
- Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on the piping system.
- Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel.
- Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed.
- Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment.
- Thread, weld, solder piping together.
- Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads.
- Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supporters, and joint needs for accurate flow.
- Cut and alter the piping to ensure the correct sizes.
- Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems.
- Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes.
- Three years’ experience as a pipefitter or pipefitter apprenticeship preferred.
- High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship required.
- Must meet all state license requirements.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding piping systems.
- OSHA 10 preferred.
- Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment.
- Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- You must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following: sit, stoop, crawl, stand, and kneel.
- If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
