johnson madison / western building center is seeking a hardworking person who takes pride in a job well done. This full-time lumberyard assistant & delivery driver position will give you the opportunity to excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Feeling strong? Applicants must be able to lift items weighing 80 pounds. Forklift experience is recommended but not required. Materials and equipment training will be provided.

• assisting customers with their purchases in our lumberyards and at their place of delivery.
• inspecting all orders before they are sent out to make sure they are correct.
• unloading building materials that arrive on stock trucks.
• load building materials by using knowledge of products, inventory, and materials handling to ensure loads are safely built and loaded on trucks.
• maintaining a clean and organized lumberyard.
• plan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
• keep accurate records of maintenance logs of vehicle repairs and statuses.
• understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self, co-workers, or customers.
• attend monthly safety meetings as required.
• safely operating heavy equipment, hand tools, and power tools.

• knowledge of company products is sufficient to determine appropriate applications.
• proficient customer service and communication skills.
• ability to read the customer’s order and fill it accordingly.
• must be able to adhere to all of our safety regulations.
• able to pass all the requirements for our insurance carrier to be added to our fleet of drivers.
• clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• class a or b cdl.
• pass a pre-employment drug test.
