Overview
To carry out general maintenance works and operations, working with a Chargehand, undertaking a wide range of routine works in one of the Planned Response Teams. To respond to emergencies and call‑outs on out‑of‑hours rosters as required and assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate.

- Abrasive Wheels
- Emergency First Aid
- Safe Dig
- Current Driving Licence
- CSCS card if client requirement
- Minimum level of everyday behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix
- Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
- Manual Handling
- General health & safety awareness
- Risk assessment awareness
- Traffic Management
- Use of PDA as required
- Ability to apply a wide range of generalist skills
- Understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Ability to interpret and carry out work from a specification
- 12 months+ experience in a relevant role
- Ability to use small plant and equipment
- Ability to operate a mini excavator
- Hold an HGV Licence with CPC
- Team player, prepared to contribute and participate fully in team work
- Prepared to work varying hours to meet the needs of the business
- Willingness to apply skills to a variety of different highways jobs, with changing team members
- Prepared to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications
- Can complete record sheets, paper or electronic
- Can take responsibility for plant and equipment
- Can use own initiative
- Understand and be responsible for own safety, plus that of others
- Be available for emergency and/or winter call‑outs

Full‑time – 40 hours, Monday to Friday
