Job Summary
Long Island Hebrew Academy (LIHA), a vibrant Yeshiva day school serving grades Toddler through grade 8 in Great Neck, New York, is seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary School Morah to join our dynamic team. As a leading institution in the heart of the Jewish community, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and love for Jewish heritage.
Responsibilities:
Teach Chumash with basic mefarshim skills (age-appropriate)
Teach Parsha with connection to real-life application
Teach Tefillah with fluency and understanding
Introduce foundational Halacha concepts
Prepare students for Chagim with meaningful projects and learning
Develop Hebrew reading fluency and comprehension
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technology to ensure student success
Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement curriculum that reflects the diversity of our Sephardic community
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social-emotional learning and character development
Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to ensure open and transparent communication
Participate in school-wide events and activities, celebrating holidays and traditions
