OverviewSeatrax UK Ltd are a leading offshore Marine Crane manufacturer seeking a reliable and safety-focused Electrician’s Mate to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems on heavy‑duty marine lifting equipment. The ideal candidate will work closely with qualified Electricians to ensure all electrical work meets industry standards, certification requirements, and the demanding conditions of offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities Electrical Installation & Assembly- Assist in the installation and wiring of electrical components on new build cranes, including motors, control panels, sensors, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Support cable pulling, routing, termination, and testing activities under supervision.
- Prepare and assemble electrical enclosures, junction boxes, etc. according to engineering drawings.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults, system failures, and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform basic repairs and component replacements under the direction of qualified Electricians.
- Support scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
- Aid in the functional testing of electrical systems, including continuity, insulation resistance, and system operational tests.
- Help ensure all equipment complies with relevant offshore, marine, and OEM standards.
- Follow all safety procedures, including permit‑to‑work systems, lock‑out/tag‑out, and hazardous area requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
- Assist with documentation, test sheets, and work reports as required.
- Basic knowledge of electrical principles, circuits, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in challenging marine environments.
- Relevant electrical qualification or working toward an apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3, technical diploma, or equivalent).
- Previous experience as an Electrician’s Mate, Electrical Assistant, or similar role (preferably in industrial or marine settings) is preferrable but not essential.
